myself to sleep to every night.

We are everything

I’ve ever dreamed,

everything

I’ll ever need.

We are my favorite song

to sing along with

when everything

feels wrong.

We are my favorite hoodie

on the first day of fall,

the breeze that calls to me,

I shiver,

pull you closer.

Your embrace is all

I long for.

We are a long nap

when I’ve been awake

for days,

the first deep breath

as I sink into my bed and drift.

I close my eyes and sigh

I am so tired.

But we are the fireplace

that keeps me warm at night.

I curl up next to you,

and everything feels right.
